History

Opened in 1990, Harbor Club began as a 1000 acre community consisting of less than 15 single family residences, a Morrish and Weiskopf golf course and 9 miles of shoreline along beautiful Lake Oconee. From the moment the Matney family discovered the property in the early 90’s, they knew it would become something truly special. There was an attraction to the property’s unique mixture of proximity to Metropolitan Atlanta and the seclusion of the lake area.

Today, that 1600 acre community with a championship golf course and 9 miles of shoreline remains. And the Matney family still holds great pride in the community – but for different reasons. It’s growth and stability. There are now over 450 Harbor Club families who enjoy all the spoils that the lifestyle here has to offer. And with the community being debt free, that investment in lifestyle is sure to be endured by the next Harbor Club generations as well.
