Lake Oconee

Lake Oconee, Georgia’s second largest lake and its best fishing lake, has over 374 miles of shoreline and offers our residents a number of options for enjoying the water. Whether you’re boating, jet skiing or just plain ole fishing, the 19,000 acre lake has something to offer for everyone. You can access this beautiful lake from our boat ramp or from your lakefront home, and Harbor Club’s 9 miles of shoreline offers you breathe taking views and the ability to experience nature in its purest form. The part of the lake that Harbor Club fronts is fed by Richland Creek, the cleanest source of water for the reservoir, resulting in a clearer lake along Harbor Club’s shoreline.

Lake Oconee which was created in 1980 by Georgia Power through the construction of the Wallace Dam, is the largest hydroelectric power plant in Georgia. Wallace Dam is Georgia Power's first pumped storage project and its turbines can be reversed to pump water from below the dam back up into the reservoir resulting in the level of the lake never being more than two feet from full pool year round.
