It’s hard to believe it, but Labor Day is just around the corner. Always the first Monday in September, it unofficially marks the end of summer and the beginning of fall. However, there is no need to be sad that summer is coming to a close, Labor Day weekend is the perfect time to take a break from work and enjoy special times with family and friends.

If you are looking for fun things to do, here are some festivities at Harbor Club to help celebrate the occasion.

Harbor Club Member Pool Party

Saturday, September 1 from 11:00 am-2:30 pm

What’s Labor Day without a cookout? We’re going to fire up the grill for our big, annual, party at the pool. Kyle Smith, the talented singer-songwriter from Augusta, will be back to perform some mixes of favorite covers and original tunes. Bring the kids so they can burn off energy with the bounce house and water slide. Relax with a yummy hot dog, hamburger, and drink — all will be available for purchase. All Harbor Club members are invited to join in the fun at this family-friendly event. It’s the last pool party of the season, so don’t miss it!

Live music at The Boathouse

Sunday, September 2 from 6:30-9:30 pm

Remember — it’s not a school night, so come to The Boathouse to enjoy excellent music and food on Labor Day Eve. We’ve got some fantastic talent lined up for our last summer concert event. Scott Deering and The Boat Rockerz are renown for playing favorite classic rock, soul, and R&B hits. Find the event details here on our Facebook Events page. While you’re there, Like us on Facebook to be among the first to see future events too.

Labor Day golf

Our award-winning golf course is typically closed on Mondays, but not on Labor Day. You’ve already got the day off, so why not play an exceptional game of golf? As of this writing, tee-times are available starting at 8 am, with open slots available until 12:00 pm. Don’t delay in booking your tee time, as they often go quickly on holidays.

Experience “lake life”

Labor Day weekend is the perfect excuse for “Lake hair, don’t care.” Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, you can always schedule a fun time on Lake Oconee. Whether you own your own watercraft or prefer to hire, The Boathouse marina has you covered. You can rent a boat, jet ski, kayak, or paddleboard. Easily stock up your vessel with snacks and drinks at our convenience store. Make fueling up a snap with the help of our boat valets. Better yet, consider fueling up your body with a delicious meal at The Boathouse Restaurant too. (See The Boathouse menu here.) PS – Before you head out on the water, ask for directions to the renown jumping rock and the sand bar. You’ll have a blast at both. Who needs “salt life” when you can have epic “lake life” right here on Lake Oconee?

No matter what you decide to do this upcoming Labor Day weekend, we hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy life at Harbor Club. Curious as to what it’s like? Schedule your exclusive Discovery experience today.
