Kids summer camps are finally back in session this summer — and everyone is excited (especially parents and grandparents.) But, if you’ve already missed out on camp opportunities from earlier this summer, don’t fret. Several upcoming offerings in and around Lake Country start in July.

They’re sure to make children smile, as they cater to a wide variety of interests — things like creative arts, theatre, golf, nature, spirituality, performing arts, horticulture, and karate. Here are some great options located near Lake Oconee:

Camp Swamp

July 4-10 and July 11-17

Camp Swamp is an overnight camp facility that hosts week-long overnight Christian camps for kids nine to 18 years of age. It’s located in a rural setting in Penfield on 188 acres of wooded land and open fields. It’s a place where the children safely gather and enjoy various activities such as basketball, soccer, laser tag, ultimate frisbee, swimming, fishing, paddle boating, a low-ropes course, ping-pong, arts and crafts, hayrides, and more. In addition, wonderful memories are made during cabin challenges, night activities, devotionals, and Bible classes. Each camp begins at 3 P.M. on Sunday and ends at 10 A.M. on Saturday.
