Harbor Club Home Sales Surge in 2020
The final numbers are in, and Harbor Club on Lake Oconee has once again experienced stellar residential sales at our Southern Living-Inspired Community. Despite 2020’s COVID-19 pandemic, or perhaps because of it, our real estate sales jumped 31.7% compared to 2019. It’s also the sixth year in a row that our award-winning community has attained a double-digit percentage increase in sales. Talk about unprecedented.
Here are the overall real estate statistics for Harbor Club in 2020:
- $43.6 million in home, homesite, cottage, and townhome property sales (up from $33.1 million in 2019.)
- All combined, there were 139 real estate transactions
- Most sales occurred in the $300-$600 price range
- Harbor Club welcomed 108 new families to the community
In addition to the facts mentioned above, we’re also happy to announce that 89 new members joined the club. It’s remarkable considering the challenges that the pandemic presented throughout the year. But we embraced those challenges and turned them into opportunities. Here’s what contributed to our great success in 2020:
Resort-style communities are in high demand
Why? Because they are the perfect place to live in a pandemic. Americans are buying more homes in exclusive resort communities like ours. Their desire to escape crowded cities and have more space to live, work, and play made resort-style neighborhoods highly desirable.
Golf and boating are safe, distancing activities
At Harbor Club, we can enjoy multiple outdoor activities that easily comply with current social-distancing requirements. Believe it or not, golf is booming because of the pandemic. And, not only can we safely play on our highly-acclaimed Weiskopf/Morrish-designed, championship golf course, but we can also enjoy boating on beautiful Lake Oconee, along with other fun outdoor activities.
Working remotely is the “new normal”
As a result of social-distancing safety measures, working from home is now a common and accepted practice. Understanding the increased need, we fully embraced the home office trend with house plans that offered thoughtfully designed home offices. Each hard-working space helped our new residents optimize their professionalism and energize their productivity. Cheers to all those (including students) that are enjoying their new home’s impressive “Zoom Rooms.”
New grocery and take-out options offered
Unprecedented times called for unprecedented measures to keep everyone at Harbor Club healthy, well, and fed. We came up with creative alternatives to help our residents, members, and even our golfers enjoy great food. Most took advantage of our new curb-side option to obtain groceries, supplies, as well as delicious take-out food from our highly-trained culinary team at Harbor Club.
