With a jam-packed calendar of social of events, there is always something fun to do at Harbor Club. Our activities, events, and clubs offer an excellent way for our residents to actively engage with both the world around them and with each other. Why are social opportunities at Harbor Club so significant? Because they’re not only fun, they are an excellent way for our residents to boost their mental and physical well-being while making new friends.

After all, studies have shown that those who have greater social support are found to live healthier, longer lives. Lucky for our residents and members, Harbor Club provides multiple ways to cultivate and grow rich social connections throughout the community.

With over 80% full-time residents at our Southern Living-Inspired Community, we like to ensure that everyone that lives, learns, works, and plays here has ample opportunities to socialize together. Of course, we have lots of fun outdoor activities where socialization is key, like award-winning golf, our summer concert series at The Boathouse, or merely hanging out with friends at the Dog Park (just to name a few.) We also have exciting trivia nights, holiday parties, happy hours, live entertainment events, themed dinners, seminars, luncheons, and more. In addition, for those with any niche-based hobbies and interests, there is likely a club for it at Harbor Club. Here are a few examples:

Ladies League

This lively group of women meets at least monthly. They have educational luncheons, go on trips, support charities, have parties, and engage in several other fantastic social gatherings. Their most recent trip was to the Atlanta High Museum of Art, and their most recent luncheon included a Wellness Advocate who discussed aging gracefully and how essential oils can keep us healthy and well. The Ladies League is an excellent way for the women of Harbor Club to socialize and expand their circle of friends.

Bunco

As an offshoot of the Ladies League, the Southern Living-Inspired bunco group is held at a different home each month. Usually with a host and co-host, it often features at least one delicious Southern Living recipe for everyone to indulge in. Essentially a fun, “girls night out” the game has been a fantastic way for the ladies to create and maintain meaningful, close relationships outside of work and home.

Book club

Meeting on the fourth Friday of every month is our book club. Here, attendees have the opportunity to not only gain new friends but to also expand their minds with new perspectives on particular book genres and styles. It’s an excellent way for people to get to know one another through thoughtful discussions and self-expression.

Game Group

Game Group meets every other month (beginning in February) on a rotating host basis within Harbor Club. A neighbor hosts a group of eight, and everyone brings an appetizer and beverage. The main game is a card game called Texas Tango. At the end of each gathering, a tally of final scores is updated for all participants. A potluck party is held at year-end to celebrate and award the overall winners. This group has always been popular, and it’s an ideal way for Harbor Club men, women, young, and ‘not-so-young’ to have a grand time together.

Bridge

We have bridge clubs (including a Marathon one) that meet on both the first and fourth Wednesday of the month. This game is one that is both strategic and intellectually demanding (like chess) but it is also quite social. It’s that combination that makes it such an engaging activity for all players.

Garden club

From expert gardeners to those who want to gain a greener thumb, our garden club caters to all levels. Located in The Grove, our Victory Garden features several professionally designed, raised beds that helps gardeners of all ages grow vegetables and other healthy plants with ease. Both Harbor Club residents and members are encouraged to join.
